Relationship Dynamics & Coercive Control

It Stops Here...

Relationship Dynamics & Coercive Control

Unhealthy relationship dynamics can take many forms, including coercive control and interpersonal conflict. In therapy, my approach is to understand the behavioural patterns at play, look clearly at what contributes to these boundary violations, and to support you to find your own clarity and safety

Together, we shine a light on these patterns to bring you to a place of inner strength. We work at a pace that ensures you feel grounded, at ease, and internally supported as you explore these areas.

Recognise Unhealthy Behaviors & Control
Signs that a relationship has crossed into an unsafe or controlling dynamic include:
  • Frequent, unwarranted accusations of infidelity or intense jealousy.
  • Strict financial control or monitoring how money is spent.
  • Dictating personal choices, such as what you wear or who you see.
  • Frequent public humiliation, criticism, or undermining of your self-esteem.
  • Monitoring personal communication, including text messages and emails.
  • Isolating you from supportive friends and family members.
  • Verbal aggression, frequent shouting, or patterns of intimidation.
  • Threats of harm directed toward you, loved ones, or pets.
  • Any form of physical intimidation or violations of physical safety.
  • Undermining your mental health, intelligence, or personal beliefs.
Addressing Relational Injury
If you have experienced severe boundary violations or relational trauma, our priority is to strengthen your emotional foundation. Like a sapling growing into a resilient tree, we focus on building your internal resources and processing what happened in a safe, supportive environment.

Addressing Psychological & Emotional Control
Psychological control can be incredibly destabilising. If terms like gaslighting, egg-shells, stonewalling, or narcissistic dynamics resonate with your current relationship experiences, professional support can help you regain your perspective.

Booking an appointment is a constructive step toward breaking these cycles and reclaiming your autonomy.
